Section 2. Section 137.16, Emergency Medical Services Commission, of the Lakewood Codified Ordinances, currently reading as follows: 137.16 EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES COMMISSION. (a) Establishment and Membership. There is hereby established in and for the City of Lakewood an Emergency Medical System Commission, to consist of the Mayor, the Chair of the Public Safety Committee of City Council, the Health Commissioner, the EMS Medical Director, the Lakewood Hospital Clinical Nurse Manager of the Emergency Room, the Chief of Fire, the Chief of Police, a Citizen appointed by the Mayor who shall serve a term of two years fiom the date of appointment, and a representative appointed by City Council who will serve a Tenn of two years from the date of appointment. (b) Duties. The duties of the Lakewood Emergency Medical System Commission shall be: (1) To develop medical and public safety benchmarks; (2) To monitor performances of the EMS Fire Based system; (3) To identify training needs of EMS professionals; (4) To assure ongoing communication and collaboration among health care and public safety professionals charged with providing quality pre - hospital emergency medical care to the citizens of Lakewood; and (5) To report annually to the Mayor. (c) Authority of Commission. The Lakewood Emergency Medical Sys- tem Commission shall have the authority to review the provisions of the Fire based EMS services within the City and make recommenda- tions to the Mayor and City Council. (d) Procedure. The Lakewood Emergency Medical Services Commis- sion shall make and promulgate rules as necessary and proper to carry out the duties of the Commission. The Commission shall keep a record of its proceedings which shall be open to public inspection. (e) Chairman; Secretary. The Mayor, shall serve as Chair of the Com- mission.
