standard square footage allowed per sign without requiring variances for <br />each sign. <br />(4) The proposed sign program approvals assigns the sign criteria for the <br />property all tenants must confirm to those requirements at all times. <br />(r) A -Frame Signs. All signs shall be professionally manufactured, maintained <br />in good repair, and no attachments to the signs are permitted. Construction <br />of the sign shall be of professional quality and made of durable, weather <br />resistant materials such as wood, steel, aluminum and PVC. Signs shall only <br />be permitted on the public sidewalk in front of the business. Illumination is <br />prohibited. <br />1329.06 ILLUMINATION OF SIGNS. <br />(a) Light sources to illuminate signs shall be shielded from all adjacent <br />buildings and sheets and shall not be of such brightness so as to cause glare <br />hazardous to pedestrians or motorists or so as to cause reasonable objection <br />from adjacent residential districts. <br />(b) All signs in commercial, industrial, and apartment ML and MH residential <br />districts may be illuminated. <br />(c) Flashing or moving illumination shall not be permitted in any district within <br />the City. <br />1329.07 SIGNS: RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS. <br />Accessory signs shall be permitted in the R -IL, R -IM, R -IH, L and R -2 <br />Districts pursuant to the regulations of the Planning and Zoning Code, Chapters <br />1121, 1123, 1125 and 1127 or the same as shall be amended from time to time. <br />Signage shall be in accordance with these regulations. <br />(a) Maximum Sign Area and Location <br />(1) No sign shall exceed six (6) square feet in total area. <br />(2) No sign shall be displayed on any utility pole, or in any tree lawn or public <br />right -of -way except as permitted by 541.08. <br />(b) Exemptions <br />(1) This section does not apply to churches or schools existing as non- <br />conforming uses in R1L, RIH, L, R2, ML, or MH Districts. Chapter <br />1329.09 of the Building Code shall govern signs on such premises. <br />(2) Flags and signage with a total area that does not exceed one (1) square foot. <br />(c) Other Regulations <br />The Director of Public Works may remove any sign(s) posted on any utility <br />pole, or in any tree lawn or public right -of -way. The Director of Public Works <br />may determine the cost of removal and assess such costs to the person(s), <br />business, organization, or entity that posted the sign(s). <br />1329.08 SIGNS: APARTMENT ML AND MH DISTRICTS. <br />
