(a) Light sources to illuminate signs shall be shielded from all adjacent <br />residential buildings and streets and shall not be of such brightness so as to <br />cause glare hazardous to pedestrians or motorists or so as to cause <br />reasonable objection from adjacent residential districts. <br />(b) All signs in commercial, industrial, and residential districts may be <br />illuminated. Parking lots and automotive sales lots shall be illuminated in <br />accordance with the provisions of this section. <br />(c) Flashing or moving illumination shall not be permitted in any district within <br />the City. <br />1329.07 SIGNS: RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS. <br />Accessory signs shall be permitted in the R -IL, R -IM, R -111, L and R -2 <br />Districts pursuant to the regulations of the Planning and Zoning Code, Chapters <br />1121, 1123, 1125 and 1127 or the same as shall be amended from time to time. <br />1329.08 SIGNS: APARTMENT ML AND MH DISTRICTS. <br />Accessory signs in Apartment ML and MH Districts shall be designed, erected, <br />altered, proved and maintained, in whole or in part, in accordance with these <br />regulations. The types of signs permitted as to use, structure, size and number <br />for each building or lot shall be regulated as follows: <br />(a) Bulletin Boards. One bulletin board not exceeding twenty square feet in <br />area or five feet in height may be located on the premises of a public, <br />charitable or religious institution but not less than fifteen feet from a street <br />right -of -way line; indirect illumination shall be permitted. <br />(b) Development Signs. One development sign not exceeding fifty square feet <br />in area and ten feet in height shall be permitted on the lot which a building <br />is under construction. Signs shall be removed on the issuance of a final <br />occupancy permit or one year after the permit is issued, whichever date <br />occurs first. <br />(c) Directional Signs. Two directional signs each not exceeding two square <br />feet in area shall be permitted on any building or tot, but not less than five <br />feet from any lot or street right -of -way line. <br />(d) Identification Signs. One wall or ground identification sign not exceeding <br />eight square feet shall be permitted, provided the wall sign is located on the <br />street side of a multiple family building and provided any ground sign <br />located in front of the setback line has received approval from the Board of <br />Building Standards. <br />(e) Real Estate Signs. One temporary double face freestanding or wall sign <br />advertising the sale, lease or rental of the premises or part of the premises <br />on which the signs are displayed, not exceeding five square feet in area, <br />shall be permitted for each lot. <br />(f) <br />Canopy igns. One canopy sign shall be permitted. The total area of one <br />face of the sign shall not exceed five square feet and the vertical dimension <br />of the sign shall not exceed twelve inches and the lowest structural member <br />shall not be less than eight feet from the sidewalk grade. <br />
