ORDINANCE NO: 43 -17A Read and referred to Finance Committee 6/9/18; second reading 6/18/18. Please substitute for the original. BY: Anderson, Bullock, George, Litten O'Leary, O'Malley, Rader AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, amending Ordinance 43 -17, adopted December 18, 2017, authorizing the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and /or the Purchasing Manager to enter into contracts for professional services, and to advertise for bids and enter into contracts for the purchase of repair maintenance and operating supplies, services and equipment as authorized by the 2018 Appropriation Ordinance and the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood with the lowest and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided by law. WHEREAS, this Council desires to provide the authorization to the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or the Purchasing Manager to enter into contracts for professional services, and to advertise for bids and enter into contracts for the purchase of repair maintenance and operating supplies, services and equipment as authorized by the 2018 Appropriation Ordinance and the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood with the lowest and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided by law; and WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 2.12 of the Third Amended Charter of the city of Lakewood, this Council by a vote of at least two thirds of its members determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure and that it shall take effect immediately, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that delay could impair the City's ability to provide necessary services in a timely manner for fiscal year 2018; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance 43 -17, adopted December 18, 2018, currently reading as follows: Section 1.
