Please <br />substitute for the original. <br />ORDINANCE NO: 43 -17B BY: Anderson, Bullock, George, Litten <br />O'Leary, O'Malley, Rader <br />AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect and be in force after the <br />earliest period allowed by law, amending Ordinance 43 -17A, adopted July 2, 2018, authorizing <br />the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the <br />Director of Finance, and /or the Purchasing Manager to enter into contracts for professional <br />services, and to advertise for bids and enter into contracts for the purchase of repair maintenance <br />and operating supplies, services and equipment as authorized by the 2018 Appropriation <br />Ordinance and the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood with the lowest and best bidder <br />or bidders or as otherwise provided by law. <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to provide the authorization to the Mayor (Director of <br />Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, and/or <br />the Purchasing Manager to enter into contracts for professional services, and to advertise for bids <br />and enter into contracts for the purchase of repair maintenance and operating supplies, services <br />and equipment as authorized by the 2018 Appropriation Ordinance and the Administrative Code <br />of the City of Lakewood with the lowest and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided by <br />law; and <br />WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 2.12 of the Third Amended Charter of the city of <br />Lakewood, this Council by a vote of at least two thirds of its members determines that this <br />ordinance is an emergency measure and that it shall take effect immediately, and that it is <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety, and to <br />provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that delay could impair the <br />City's ability to provide necessary services in a timely manner for fiscal year 2018; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: <br />Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance 43 -17A, adopted July 2, 2018, currently reading as <br />follows: <br />Section 1. That the Mayor (Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director <br />of Law, the Director of Finance, and /or the Purchasing Manager be and are hereby authorized and <br />directed to enter into a contract or contracts for supplies, services and equipment with the lowest <br />and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided by law, as follows: <br />Professional services contacts included in the 2018 Budget are as follows: <br />1) Legal Services ......................................................... ............................... ........................225,000 <br />2) Recodification of Ordinances .................................. ............................... .........................12,500 <br />
