RESOLUTION NO. 34?3 BY Uro Ward <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION urging the Senate and House of Representatives of the <br />United States, in their consideration of the proposed increase in taxes, to <br />require non,military expenditures to be reduced to the end that all non- <br />essential government services shall be eliminated. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the opinion of this Council numerous activities are <br />engaged in by the Federal Government and its agencies which are not required <br />in the Public interest, and that tax money now used for such purposes should <br />be diverted to defense and other essential services~ now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF L~KEWOOD, STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Senate and House of Representatives of the <br />United States are hereby urged in their consideration of the proposed in- <br />crease in taxes, to require non-military expenditures to be reduced to the <br />end that all non-essential government services shall be eliminated. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of this Council is hereby directed to <br />send a certified copy of this resolution to the Senate and House of Represent- <br />atives, and to each member thereof representing the State of Ohio. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this resolution shall take 2ffect and be in force <br />at the earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />February 5, 1951 <br /> <br />Wm. R.
