4: <br /> 3 <br /> RESOLUTION NOo 3556 BY Mro Ward <br /> AlQ II~ZERGEPdCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor to advertise for bids <br /> for the sale of a used City Service Ladder Truck and the purchase of an <br /> Aerial Ladder Truck for the Division of Fire, and for the sale of a used 1942 <br /> F®rd special body Ambulance and the purchase of a new Police Ambulance for <br /> the Division of Polieeo <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency for the reasons <br /> that this Council has and hereby determines, on the recommendation of its <br /> committee and the chiefs of said divisions, that it is necessary in the in- <br /> terests oP the public safety and walfaz~e and for the efficient operation of <br /> said divisions to forthwith sell the unfit and obsolete equipment and to <br /> <br /> II" purchase new equipment of the same ®r similar kind and type for said divi- <br /> <br /> f~- sions; now, therefore <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> OHIC: <br /> Section 1o This Council finds that the Division of Fire is using <br /> a ladder truck hereinafter more specifically described which is unfit for <br /> public use, and that the Division of Police is using a Ford special body <br /> ambulance hereinafter more specifically described which is unfit for public <br /> ~.k use; finds that the City has need for new vehicles and equipment of the sam® <br /> or similar kind and type for the use of said Divisions; and further finds <br /> that it will be to the best interests of the City that sale of said used <br /> and unfit vehicles and equipment shall be made simultaneously with the p~r- <br /> ' chase of new vehicles and equipment of the same or similar kind and typed <br /> Section 20 The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to adver- <br /> tise for bids for the sale of the 1926 City Service Ladder Truck now used <br /> by the Division of Fire, and for the purchase of a new Aerial Ladder Truck <br /> ' for the Division of Fire in accordance with the apecifications therefor now <br /> on file in the office of the Chief of the Division of Fire which are hereby <br /> approved; for the sale of the 1942 eight-cylinder Ford special body Ambulance <br /> r now used by the Division of Police, and for the purchase of a new police am- <br /> s balance in accordance with the specifications therefor now on filec.in the <br /> office of the Chief of Police which are .hereby approved; and it is hereby <br /> determined that the selling price of the old vehicle and equipment shall be <br /> j' credited against the purchase price of the new vehicle and equipment, in and <br /> for the respective Divisions, and the sale and purchase for each Division <br /> 'x consummated by subtracting £rom price of the vehicle and equipment to be <br /> purchased by the City the price offered for the used vehicle and equipment. <br /> Section 3o This resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br /> measure for the reasons stated ixi the preamble hereof and, provided it re- <br /> ceives the affirmative vote of two-thirds ®f all members elected to Council, <br /> a it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoptions <br /> - _ <br /> Adopted: June 15. 193 <br /> George Fo Quinn <br /> President <br /> H, Ao Rees <br /> Approved; June 1bi1953 Clerk <br /> A, Io Kauffh~an <br /> Mayor <br /> <br />
