RESOLUTION NOo 3568 BY Mr. Fairgrieve AN II~RC~VCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, to employ Squire, Sanders and Dempsey, Attorneys at Law, to consider the legal aspects of and to prepare all instruments necessary for_the issuance of revenue bonds for the purpose of acquiring and constructing the off- street parking areas contemplated and provided in Ordinance No, 53-530 4dHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 53-53 an agreement with i~hn. J. Merieka and Co., Inc, and Nelson, Browning & Co. rras authorized for the .making of surveys, reports and recommendations relative to off-street parking, and, WI~REAS, said companies have made a preliminary survey and also a report to the Finance Committee of Council, dated August 19, 1953] and, Wf~?.EAS, an emergency eid.sta for the reasons that in order to effectuate said report, provide financing for the off-street parking as contemplated in =s Ordinance No. 53-53, and provide for the public safety and welfare and the usual dail o eration of a munici al de artment it is neceas y p p p , ary to immediately provide for the preparation of further necessary legislation, agreements, bonds and other instruments, now, therefore, ~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO; `=a Section 1. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to employ Squire, Sanders and Dempsey, to prepare all legislation, agreements, bonds and other instruments as .may be necessary and incident to the issuance of revenue bonds to provide financing for the purpose of acquiring Parcel .Noo 1 as described in Ordinance No. 53-53, and the construction and operation o£ off-street parking areas thereon. All compensation for such services sha71 be paid from the proceeds re- ceived from the sale of the revenue bonds or, if such bonds are not sold, from the General Fund - General Miscellaneous Appropriation. Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it sha]1 take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. ~~t AdoptedE September 8, 1953 rr".
