<br /> ,AN, EMERGENCY RE~OLU~ION authorizing the Maygr, as Directgr of
<br />Public wor~s, to acvertlse zor bids for the concession of operatmng
<br />refreshment stands in Lakewood Park and in Madison Park for the
<br />period beginning May 15, 1956 and ending November 30, 1956, and, in
<br />the alternatmve, for the period beginning May 15, 1956 and ending
<br />November 30, 1958.

<br /> WHEREAS, an emergency exists to provide for the public wel-
<br />fare and the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now,
<br />therefore,
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE
<br />OF OHIO:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, as Director of Public Works, be,
<br />and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the concessiQn
<br />of operating refreshment stands in Lakewood Park and in Madison Park
<br />in the City of Lakewood for the period beginning May 15, 1956 and
<br />ending November 30, 1956, and, in the alternative, for the period _
<br />beginning May 15, 1956 and endin~ November 30, 1958. The advertise
<br />ment shall include statements to the effect that separate bids are
<br />required as to each Park; that a bidder may bid with respect to
<br />either or both periods of time above referred to; that the success-
<br />ful bidder shall furnish a public liability policy in the amount of
<br />Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) if awarded for the period beginning
<br />May 15, 1956 and ending November 30, 1956, Fifteen Thousand Dollars
<br />($15,O00,O0) if awarded for the period beginning May 15, 1956 and
<br />ending November 30, 1958 and a performance bond in the amount of
<br />One Thousand Dollars ($1,0OO.OO) mf awarded for the period beginning
<br />May 15, 1956.and ending November 30, 1956, Three Thousand Dollars
<br />($3,000.00) mf awarded for the period beginning May 15, 1956 and
<br />ending November 30, 1958, each in favor of the City of Lakewood and
<br />in terms satisfactory to the Director of Public Works; and that the
<br />City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any state-
<br />ments or omission of statements in the bids as may be determined by
<br />the Council to be informalities, and to accept the bid or bids as
<br />may be determined by Council to be most favorable to the City of
<br />Lakewood.

<br /> Section 2. This resolution is hereby declared to be an emer-
<br />gency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and,
<br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all
<br />members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force
<br />immediately upon its adoption.
