RESOLUTION NO. 3685 BY Mr. Quinn <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing and providing for membership in the <br />Cleveland Metropolitan Services Commission. <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, the President of the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Cuyahoga County, the Mayor of Cleveland, the President of the Cuya- <br />hogs COunty Mayors and City Managers Association, the President of the <br />Citizens League of Cleveland, the Chairman of the Association of <br />Elected County Officials, the Chairman of the Republican Executive <br />Committee and the Chairman of the Democratic Executive Committee have <br />sponsored the organization of the Cleveland Metropolitan Services Com- <br />mission, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of the Cleveland Metropolitan Services <br />Co~ssion shall be to study the administration of local governmental <br />services, in particular those problems and services which necessarily <br />transcend municipal boundaries; to publish information and the results <br />of studies, and to make findings with respect thereto, amd <br /> <br /> '~HEREAS, the Cleveland Metropolitan Services Commission has <br />invited each municipality located in Cuyahoga County to become a par- <br />ticipating organization in such Commission and to designate a represen- <br />tative of each such municipality to become a member of such Commission, <br />and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, participation and membership in the Cleveland Metro- <br />politan Services Commission does not involve the expenditure of money <br />and does not commit any participating organization to support any par- <br />ticular finding of the Commission and will provide for the preserva- <br />tion of the public property, health and safety and to provide for the <br />usual daily Operation of a Municipal Department. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. It is hereby deemed desirable to participate in <br />the activities of the Cleveland Metropolitan Services Commission. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized and instructed to <br />enroll this municipality as a participating organization in the Cleve- <br />land Metropolitan Services Commission and to designate Mayor Frank P. <br />Celeste delegate and Thomas C. Ward as alternate delegate members of <br />such Commission. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
