~SOLUTION NO. 3?22 BI ~. ~ottermeyer A resolution terminating the a~ree~ent~ted April 30, IgC6 between the city of Lakewood and The Cleveland ~etropolitan Housing Authority. · ~EREA$, Pursuant to authority of Ordinance No, ~393 passed A~pril 1~, 19~6, the city of ~ewood entered into an cgreement with ~-ne Cleveland ~etrepolitan Housing Authority for the purpose of · aking available for temporary ~terana housing, certain city owned lands sufflc~ent for approximately one hundred family d~elling units, the so-called memorial park parcel located generally on the north side of Detroit &venue oppositeAlameda Avenue and, ~f necessary, the land located on the east ~ide of ¥icteria Avenue near Detroit Avenue to be used for the purpose of erecting thereon temporary housir~ for distressed families of veterans and service- men of ~orld ~ar II, Citisens of ;~e~ood, ami ~HERF~S. Under the Provisions of ouch agreement the city has the option to cancel ~uch agreement upon sixty days written notice delivered tO The Cleveland ~!etropolitan Hous~r~ Authority, and ~ERYA$, The emergency for such housing in the city of Lakewood has terminated, and ~ ~R~A$, The city of Lake~ood is desirous of cancelling such a~,rea~ent with The Cleveland i~letropoli~an Housing Authority, no~, therefore, BF IT RE$OL¥~ BY T~ COUNCIL OF T~E ¢IT~ OF LAKE~OOD, STATE OF Section 1. That the emergency arising out of the critical housing shortage in the city of Lakewood no longer exists. Section 2. That the city of Lakewood hereby cancels said a~reement with The Cleveland ~etropolitan Housing Authority effec- tive sixty days after delivery of a certified copy of this resolu- tion to The Cleveland Metropolitan ~ousing Authority. Section 3. That under the provisions of said agreement, the city shall continue to be responsible and provide for the liquidation of any deficit resulting from the management and Operation of the project and that the city shall r~meve the housing units upon the termination of the emergency. _ ~$ection ~. That any housing units ~cated after ~une 1~5 sh~ll not be re-rented but shall, as soon thereafter as po~sible, be removed from the city lands, provided, however, f~lat all such housing units shall be vacated no later than June 1, 1~8. Section ~. That the clerk of council shall notify all ten~nts livin~ in d~,ellin~s in the so-called memorial park parcel that they shall v~cate such premises on or before June 1, Section 6.
