<br /> A resolution commending Carl Dryer, Joe Hecht, H. S. Huxtable, John
<br />L. Shissler and others for their outstanding work in connection with
<br />"Operation Lakewood".
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Carl Dryer, Joe Hecht, H. S. Huxtable and John L. Shissler
<br />have spear headed an extensive program having for its purpose the reha-
<br />bilitation of the older homes of our community; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, By their leadership and enthusiasm, they have been instru-
<br />mental in rallying to such cause hundreds of Lakewood citizens; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Their efforts have shown magnificent results in the form
<br />of an ever increasing scope of "Operation Lakewood", now, therefore be
<br />it
<br />
<br /> RESOLVED, That this council wishes to show in a tangible wayits
<br />support of the principle and objectives of "Operation Lakewood" and to
<br />encourage Carl Dryer, Joe Hecht, H. S. H~xtable and John L. Shissler
<br />to continue their enthusiasm and support for this program which has for
<br />its purpose the promotion of ~Pgrading property and thus stave off'such
<br />deteriorating effects of time on homes; and be it further
<br />
<br /> RESOLVED, That the Cleveland Tile and Cabinet Company, The J. L.
<br />Hecht Decorating Company, Knobles Flowers, Inc., Stenger Nursery &
<br />Greenhouse, Prasse Lumber Co., Sherwin Williams Co., The Bailey Co.,
<br />Pratt & Lambert, Inc., Geo. C. Walter Constr. Co., Economy Plumbing &
<br />Heating Co., Congoleim-Nairn, Artistic Floor Covering Co., The Bryant Co.,
<br />Wm. Kaiser Plumbing & Neating Co., J. & E. Fabricating Co., ~erkle-
<br />White, Huxtable-Auble and the Enterprise Electric Co. be given recogni-
<br />tion for their co-operation with the said Carl Dryer, Joe Hecht, H. S.
<br />Huxtable and John L. Shissler in the rehabilitation of the so-called
<br />"Cinderella House" at 1240 Granger Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, representing
<br />a practical demonstration of what can be accomplished starting with a
<br />dilapidated, tumbled down remnant of a dwelling, and that by their
<br />splendid co-operation, other corporations and individuals be encouraged
<br />to participate in this outstanding work; and that we adopt this resolu-
<br />tion and cause a copy thereof to be spread upon the minutes of this meet-
<br />ing, and be it further
<br />
<br /> RESOLVED, That the Clerk of Council be and he is hereby directed
<br />to transmit a duly authenticated copy of this resolution to Carl Dryer,
<br />Joe Hecht, H. S. Huxtable and John L. Shissler.
