RESOLUTION NO. 3996 BY: Messrs. Chockley, Gaydos, Gottermeyer, Huffman, Lawther, Ward, Williamson. AN E~ERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Nayor, as Director of Public Works, to advertise for bids for the purchase of one new four door sedan, one one-half ton Dick-up truck, and one tractor for the Division of Parks and Public Grounds and the sale of one 1955 Ford two door sedan, one 1953 one-half ton Chevrolet pick-up truck and one 1953 Case tractor, now in service in the Division of Parks and Public Grounds. WHEREAS, In order to avail the Division of Parks and Public Grounds of modern, efficient and up-to-date equipment, it is neces- sary to authorize the purchase of one new four door sedan, one one- half ton pick-up truck, and one tractor, and, WHerEAS, The said purchase and sale should be made at as early a date as possible, and, WHEREAS, An emergency exists in that the same provides for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety, and in that this resolution provides for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE C0~CIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF 0HI0: Section 1. That the Mayor, as Director of Public Works, be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase and sale of the following equipment: bc The The The The The purchase of one new four deer sedan purchase of one one-half ton pick-up truck purchase of one tractor sale of one 1955 Ford two door sedan sale of one 1953 Chevrolet one-half ton pick-up truck sale of one 1953 Case tractor Bids may be submitted for all such vehicles or any Dart there- of; provided that if the bid is for more than one vehicle the bid shall contain a breakdown of the individual prices of each of the vehicles constitutinE such bid; such individual prices shall be used for the City's coding purposes only and shall not be construed to be the bid price, unless the bid for the entire group of vehicles con- tained in such bid is accepted by the City. The amount bid for all or any ef the vehicles to be sold by the City shall be deducted from the price bid for the new vehicles to be purchased by the City. The net price shall be quoted. Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all mem- bers elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force im- mediately upon its adoption and approval by the Nayor.
