RESOLUTION NO. 3996 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Chockley, Gaydos, <br /> Gottermeyer, Huffman, <br /> Lawther, Ward, <br /> Williamson. <br /> <br /> AN E~ERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Nayor, as Director of <br />Public Works, to advertise for bids for the purchase of one new four <br />door sedan, one one-half ton Dick-up truck, and one tractor for the <br />Division of Parks and Public Grounds and the sale of one 1955 Ford <br />two door sedan, one 1953 one-half ton Chevrolet pick-up truck and <br />one 1953 Case tractor, now in service in the Division of Parks and <br />Public Grounds. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, In order to avail the Division of Parks and Public <br />Grounds of modern, efficient and up-to-date equipment, it is neces- <br />sary to authorize the purchase of one new four door sedan, one one- <br />half ton pick-up truck, and one tractor, and, <br /> <br /> WHerEAS, The said purchase and sale should be made at as <br />early a date as possible, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, An emergency exists in that the same provides for <br />the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and <br />safety, and in that this resolution provides for the usual daily <br />operation of a municipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE C0~CIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF 0HI0: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, as Director of Public Works, be <br />and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase <br />and sale of the following equipment: <br /> <br />bc The <br /> The <br /> The <br /> The <br /> The <br /> <br />purchase of one new four deer sedan <br />purchase of one one-half ton pick-up truck <br />purchase of one tractor <br />sale of one 1955 Ford two door sedan <br />sale of one 1953 Chevrolet one-half ton pick-up truck <br />sale of one 1953 Case tractor <br /> <br /> Bids may be submitted for all such vehicles or any Dart there- <br />of; provided that if the bid is for more than one vehicle the bid <br />shall contain a breakdown of the individual prices of each of the <br />vehicles constitutinE such bid; such individual prices shall be used <br />for the City's coding purposes only and shall not be construed to be <br />the bid price, unless the bid for the entire group of vehicles con- <br />tained in such bid is accepted by the City. <br /> <br /> The amount bid for all or any ef the vehicles to be sold by <br />the City shall be deducted from the price bid for the new vehicles <br />to be purchased by the City. The net price shall be quoted. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all mem- <br />bers elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force im- <br />mediately upon its adoption and approval by the Nayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: May 16~ 1960 <br /> <br />F.
