RESOLUTION NO. 4016 BY: Messrs. Gottermeyer~ Huffman, Lawther, Williamson, Chocktey, Gaydos. AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor to advertise for bids for the purchase of one new four-door, six cylinder station wagon for the Fire Department and the sale of one 1955 Ford four- door, eight cylinder station wagon now in service in the Fire Depart- ment. WHEREAS~ It is necessary to replace eight cylinder station wagon now in service and, the 1955 Ford four-door~ in the Fire Department, WHEREAS, It is necessary that the purchase and sale be made at as early a date as possible, and, WHEREAS, An emergency exists in that the said purchase and sale is for the immediate preservation of the public peace~ property, health and safety, and in that it provides for the usual daily oper- ation of a municipal department, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Mayor, be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase and sale of the following equipment: (a) The purchase of one new four-door, six cylinder station wagon. (b) The sale of one 1955 Ford four-door, eight cylinder station wagon. Bids shall be taken in such a manner as to provide a bid for the purchase of the new vehicle only, the sale of the used vehicle only and for the purchase of the new vehicle less the amount allow- able as a trade-in on the new vehicle. The City shall reserve the right to award the contract in accord with such alternate bidding. Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all mem- bers elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force im- mediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor.
