RESOLUTION NO. 4034 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. <br /> <br />Chockley, Gaydos, <br />Gottermeyer, Huffman, <br />Lawther, Ward, <br />Williamson. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION of appreciation to Mr. Henry A. Rees. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, On March 1, 1961, Mr. Henry A. Rees will retire from <br />his position as Director of Finance of the City of Lakewood, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Appointed in 1930 as Deputy Director of Finance under <br />the late Mayor Edward A. Wiegand, Mr. Rees was shortly thereafter <br />elevated to his present position by the late Mayor Amos I. Kauffman, <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Mr. Rees performed his duties with efficiency, econ- <br />omy and excellence and gained, over the years, a state-wide repu- <br />tation as an expert in the field of municipal finance, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, In spite of the heavy burdens which were his as <br />Director of Finance, Mr. Rees found time to expend his energies in <br />many civic and religious endeavors including long-time memberships <br />in the Ohio Municipal League, the Cuyahoga County Municipal League, <br />the Lakewood Kiwanis Club, the Clifton Masonic Lodge, Lake Erie <br />Consistory and the A1 Koran Shrine, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, An energetic and devoted member of the Faith Lutheran <br />Church, Mr. Rees has a deep and abiding faith in God and in his <br />fellow men, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This Council wishes to express its appreciation to <br />Mr. Henry A. Rees for the many years of faithful service to the <br />citizens of the City of Lakewood, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Council of the City of Lakewood, on be- <br />half of the members thereof, the administration of the City and all <br />of the Lakewood citizens does hereby extend to Mr. Henry A. Rees <br />its heartfelt appreciation for his 31 years of devoted service to <br />the City of Lakewood and wishes him happiness and prosperity in his <br />well-deserved retirement. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and he hereby is re- <br />quested and directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to Mr. <br />and Mrs. Henry A. Rees, at 1506 Parkwood Avenue, Lakewood 7, Ohio. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That thisresolution shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: January 16, 1961 <br /> <br />F.
