RESOLUTION NO. 4097 BY: Messrs. <br /> <br />Huffman, Lawther, <br />Ward, Chockley, <br />Gaydos, Gottermeyer. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the <br />Mayor to make application to the U. S. Department of Health, <br />Education and Welfare for a Federal Grant for sewage <br />treatment works. <br /> <br /> 'WHEREAS, 33 U.S.C. 466, et seq. provides that the <br />U. S. Government may participate financially in the <br />construction of municipal sewage treatment works, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The City of Lakewood is desirous of obtaining <br />financial assistance in the construction of its proposed <br />sewage treatment plant, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This resolution constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a <br />municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized <br />and directed to make application %o the U. S. Department of <br />Health, Education and Welfare for a federal grant for the <br />construction of the proposed Lakewood sewage treatment plant. <br /> <br /> Section 2. This resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble <br />hereof, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: November 6~ 1961. <br /> <br />. .F..Wil~Qn Chockle~ <br />President <br /> <br />Approved: November 8, 1961 <br /> <br />P.
