imposes the obligation of giving his name, address, etc., justi <br />as does the law of every other state. The hit-skipper is gonel <br />within a few seconds, without disdDeging the statute. He has no <br />other obligation under Ohio law, although someone is dead or <br />dying, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the enactment of necessary amendments to Section <br />4549.02 of the Revised code is essential to the public safety. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, that <br />the General Assembly of the State of Ohio be and it is hereby <br />requested and urged to enact amendments to Section 4549°02 of <br />the Revised Code which will require the operator of any motor <br />vehicle, having knowledge that he has been involved in an accident, <br />to immediately stop and (1) leave, in writing, with any person <br />injured and the owner, operator or attendant of any motor vehicle <br />damaged in such accident, his name, address and the registered <br />number of the motor vehicle he was operating; (2) leave such in- <br />formation, in writing, upon any unattended vehicle damaged in the <br />accident; (3) upon the request of any such persons exhibit his <br />driver's license; (4) in the event any person is injured or an <br />unattended vehicle is damaged in said accident, after completing <br />any first aid which he has undertaken, report such accident by <br />the nearest means of communication and give his name, address and <br />the registered number of the motor vehicle he was operating to the <br />police dep~artment of the municipality wherein the accident occurred. <br />If the accident occurred outside a municipality, he shall report <br />such information to the sheriff or the nearest office of the <br />highway patrol; and that the secretary be and is hereby authorized <br />and directed to transmit certified copies of this resolution to <br />appropriate committees and officers of the General Assemblp of~ <br />Ohio. <br /> <br /> <br />
