RESOLU ZON NO. AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor to make application to the Uo So Department of Health, Education and Welfare for a Federal Grant for sewage treatment works° WHEREAS, 33 UoSoCo 466, et Seqo provides that the U0 S° Government may participate financially in the construction of municipal sewage treatment works, and, WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is desirous of obtaining financial assistance in the construction of its proposed sewage treatment plant~ and~ WHEREAS, This Resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAK~?OOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1o That 'tile ~%ayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to make application to the Uo So Department of Health, Education and Welfare for a federal grant for the construction of the proposed Lakewood sewage treatment plant° Section 2o The City of Lakewood agrees that if a federal grant for the project is made pursuant to the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (33 UoS.Co 466 et seqo), the City of Lakewood will pay the remaining cost of the approved project, and, will provide proper and efficient operation and maintenance of the approved project after completion of construction thereof° Section 3. This resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in thepreamble hereof, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor° Mayor President Clerk
