RESOLUTION NO o ~0~ BY: <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION recognizing the importance and desirability <br />of maintaining full use of the industrial facilities owned <br />by the Union Carbide Corporation in the City of Lakewood <br />and urging company officials to locate the new Technical <br />Center in Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Union Carbide Corporation and its predec- <br />essors have maintained industrial facilities within the <br />City of Lakewood for over fifty years, and whereas they <br />have been a worthy corporate member of the community, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, many Lakewood residents have been employed <br />by Union Carbide Corporation to the extent that the company <br />and citizens of the community are largely interwoven into <br />the fabric of community pride and participation, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has become necessary for the company to <br />move a portion of its operations to Greenville, SoCo, <br />thus leaving available certain facilities for other use, <br />and, <br /> WHEREAS, the company is presently considering a <br />suitable location for establishment of a new Technical <br />Center, and whereas, the people of Lakewood are earnestly <br />desirous of having the technical center established in <br />Lakewood in order that its employees may enjoy the bene- <br />fits of our community services, our outstanding school <br />system, our churches, business areas, and residential <br />facilities; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />OHIO~ <br /> That the officers and directors of the Union Carbide <br />Corporation be advised of our sincere desire to extend <br />City facilities and personal cooperation in any way Which <br />may be helpful to the company in establishing the Technical <br />Center in Lakewood, and, <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: <br /> <br /> Our desire to continue harmonious relationships between <br />the people of Lakewood and the Union Carbide Corporation be <br />expressed to company officials with the assurance that the <br />establishment of a Technical Center in Lakewood would be <br />warmly received by all of its citizens and would inure to <br />the benefit of the company and the community as wello <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> President <br />A&ting Clerk <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
