RESOLUTION NO. 4369 BT: Messrs. Wendling, Bennett, <br /> Cain, Gaydos, <br /> Huffman, Usher, <br /> Ward. <br /> AN E~RGENCYRESOLUTION requesting the Director of <br />Highways of the State of Ohio to review the traffic engineering <br />and investigation for purposes of declaring a reasonable and safe <br />prima-facie speed limit for the new Clifton-Lake Road Bridge <br />between the Lakewood westerly corporation line and West Clifton <br />Boulevard. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, A request has been made to this Council <br />that the statutory vehicular speed limit established by Section <br />4511o21 of the Ohio Revised Code.is greater than that considered <br />reasonable and safe on the new Clifton-Lake Road Bridge between <br />the westerly Lakewood corporation line and West Clifton Boulevard, <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This Council has caused to be made an <br />engineering and traffic investigation upon the section of road <br />described above, and, <br /> <br /> W/g~REAS, It is the belief of this Council that such <br />investigation confirms the allegation that the statutory speed <br />limit of 50 mph is unrealistic, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This resolution constitutes an emergency <br />measure for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety <br />and Welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal depart- <br />ment, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1~ By virtue of the provisions of Section <br />4511o21 of the Ohio Revised Code, the Director of Highways is <br />hereby requested to review the engineering and traffic investigation <br />and to determine and declare a reasonable and safe prima-facie <br />speed limit, towit: thirty-five (35) miles per hour, on the new <br />Clifton-Lake Road Bridge and its approaches between the westerly <br />Lakewood corporation line and West Clifton Boulevard, in the City <br />of Lakewood, Ohio. <br /> <br /> Section 2o That after this Council is advised that <br />the Director of Highways has determined and declared a reasonable. <br />and safe speed limit on the section of road described in Section 1 <br />hereof, that standard signs, properly posted and giving notice <br />thereof, will be erected. <br /> <br /> Section 3o That this resolution is hereby declared <br />to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble <br />hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted:....09tober 19~ 1964 <br /> <br />John Gaydos, Jr, <br /> President <br /> <br />Approved:.0ct0ber 21; 1964 <br /> <br />Mary Adams <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Robert M.
