RESOLUTION NO. 4467 BY: Messrs. Huffman, Kelley, <br /> Usher, Ward, <br /> Wendling. <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Dr. William B. Edwards for his <br />ten years of service to the Lakewood school sFstem as Superintendent <br />of Schools° <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Dr. William B. Edwards, in his constant search <br />for new ways in which to benefit all youth of the community, was <br />widely known for his deep interest and participation in all programs <br />designed to broaden education, to build character and to improve <br />recreation, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, His understanding of city-wide problems, his <br />ability to cope with any and all situations involving the schools, <br />its pupils, programs and problems, his personal warmth, enthusiasm, <br />and genuine interest made him dear to the hearts of all who came in <br />contact with him, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The death of Dr. Edwards is a profound loss to <br />the entire community, a loss which will long be felt not only <br />throughout the City of Lakewood and its schools, but also wherever <br />the impact of his strong qualities of character and leadership left <br />its mark, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, His years of public service in the field of <br />education and his devotion to duty in all respects should be <br />recognized in a fitting and proper manner; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council commemorate Dr. Edwards' <br />many years of public service by extending to his family its deep <br />appreciation and gratitude as well as its assurance that his memory <br />will be revered for years to come by the citizens of the community <br />he served so well. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is <br />hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of <br />this Resolution to Dr. Edwards' family at 17201 Lake Avenue, <br />Lakewood, Ohio, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread <br />upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Adopted: February RI~ 1~66 <br /> <br /> February 23. 1966 <br />Approved: <br /> <br />Charle~ S..
