RESOLUTION NO. 4492BY: Messrs. Kelley, Usher, Ward, <br /> ~ue~ling, Gaydos, Cain, <br /> Irmam- <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Stanley K. Baxter, '~hief <br />of Police, for his twenty-five years of dedicated service to <br />the Division of Police, City of Lakewood, Ohio. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Stanley K. Baxter was appointed as a PatrOl- <br />man in the Division of Police in the City of Lakewood on May <br />12, 1941 and received a series of promotions until becoming <br />Chief of Police in 1963, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, his skill and knowledge of modern police <br />procedures have earned for him the admiration and recognition <br />of law enforcement personnel throughout the nation, and his <br />sense of fairness and integrity have won the affection and <br />respect of his men, of other City officials, and the citizens <br />of Lakewood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his twenty-five years as a member of <br />the police force, Chief Baxter has displayed unswerving loyalty! <br />to the principals of law and order, and genuine concern and <br />humane interest in the problems of others, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chief Baxter's resignation is accepted with <br />reluctance and the realization that his leaving will create a <br />void in the Division of Police which will not easily be filled, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, his years of public service in the field of <br />police work and his tireless devotion to duty should be recog- <br />nized in a fitting and proper manner by all those who will <br />sorely miss him; now therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council commemorate Chief <br />Stanley Ko Baxter's many years of service to the City of Lake~ood <br />and extend to him its sincere appreciation and that of all the <br />citizens of the entire City of Lakewood, and further, that <br />this Council wish him many years of continued health, <br />prosperit~ and happiness in his retirement. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is <br />hereby authorized and directed to forward to Chief Baxter a <br />certified copy of this Resolution, and that a copy of this <br />Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
