Ruf{~an, Kelley, Usher <br />Wsrd, Cain, Gaydos <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to colmnend Chief Jay V. Redmond for his fifty years <br />of devoted public service as a member of the Division of Fire in the City <br />of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Jay V. Redmond was appointed to the Division of Fire on <br />January 1, 1917 after deciding to devote his life to fire fighting, and <br /> <br />September <br />1932, end <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Jay V. Redmond was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on <br />1, 1920, to Captain on May 5, 1923, to Assistant Chief on March 1, <br />to the rank of Chief on July 1, 1954, and <br /> <br />motion in <br />duty, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, his ready acceptance of responsibility and his rapid pro- <br />the Department are evidence of his leadership ability, devotion to <br />desire to render outstanding service, and <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, during his fifty years of public service, he has earned th~ <br />admiration and respect of ail Lakewood residents, both in the performance of <br />his duties and through his interest in the community, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through the years he has won the respect and affection of <br />his colleagues in the Division of Fire through personal warmth and genuine <br />interest in assisting them to become not only more proficient in their chosen <br />work but to develop genuine qualities of manhood, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through his leadership the Lakewood Division of Fire has <br />been honored countless times on both a state-wide and national basis for <br />achieving ~u~lable records of performance and fire safety, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such dedication to duty and years of public service should <br />be recognized in a proper and fitting manner; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Lakewood City Council extends to Chief Jay V. Redmond <br />its appreciation and that of all the citizens of this community for his fifty <br />years of public service as a ~ember of t~ Division of Fire, and further' that <br />this Conrail wishes him e~ued years of Service, health and prosperity. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized <br />and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Chief Jay V. <br />~edi~ond at 1383 Elbur Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, and that a copy of this Resolution <br />~%e spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Adopted: -- Jan. 6. 1967 <br /> <br />Charles S.
