Day, who died at the age of seventy-six efuer devoting <br />fifty years to serving his coT~munity and his State in a judicial <br /> <br /> K~REAS, Judge Arthur H, Day served as a me~fber of the <br />Cleveland ~funicipat Court, as Chief Justice of the Cuyahoga County <br />Co~on Pleas~Court and as Associate Justice of th~ Ohio State <br />g~lpreme Court, and <br /> <br /> WHEREA~ his public service also in~!ud~d two years as <br />Assiztant Cleveland Law Director and four years us State Senator, <br />and <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, he is wel~. known for his attempts to reconcile <br />couples in Divorce Conrt~ because of his desire to sav~ children <br />from the tragedy of broken homes~ and <br /> <br /> WIiEREAS, he was honored by 'veterans because of his dis- <br />tinguished record on active duty during Uorld War I ~nd because of <br />his conti[:ued interest in veterans organizations, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Judge Arthur H. Day hsd long been a resident of <br />the Ci~)~ of Lakewood amd had maintained a strong interest in the <br />affairs of this City, making countless friendships thzaagh his <br />genuine ianerest in others and his co~stant desire to ba of service <br />to his fellowmen; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCI!L OF THE CITY OF LAKEW00D, <br />STATE OF CEIO: <br /> <br />S~ction 1~ That Lakewood City Council, in memorium to <br />~$g~ A~hur ~o Day~ expresses its ~ppreeiation and gratitude for <br /> many years of outstanding service and leadersbipin our eom <br />mu~%ty and extends its ~incere sympathy to his famlly~ <br /> <br /> Section 2.
