RESOLUTION NO. 4581 BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Cain, Gaydos, Huffman, Keele~ <br />Usher, Ward and Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Director of Public <br />Works to enter into a contract for the purchase of Two Thousand <br /> (2,000) tons of rock salt for the period commencing November 1, <br /> 1967 and ending March 31, 1968. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide safety for vehicular and <br />pedestrian traffic during the winter months, it is necessary to <br />purchase salt, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a muni- <br />cipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAK~v~OOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract for the <br />purchase of Two Thousand (2,000) tons of rock salt for the period <br />commencing November 1, 1967 and ending March 31, 1968, for the <br />Department of Public Works, with the lowest and best bidder after <br />advertisement according to law. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof <br />and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of <br />all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: September 5, 1967 <br /> <br />Charles S.
