RESOLUTION NO. 4616 BY: Messrs. Kelley, Usher, Ward, <br /> Wendling, Gaydos, Graber, Huffman <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor as Director <br />of Public Safety to enter into a contract or contracts for the <br />purchase and installation of high frequency broadcasting and <br />receiving equipment and mobile radio units for all police cars and <br />for the purchase of slx (6) new police cars for the Department <br />of Public Safety of the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ This resolution constitutes an emergency measure <br />in that it provides for the immediate preservation of the public <br />safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of municipal <br />departments~ nowv therefore~ <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Sec%ion 1. That the Mayor as Director of Public Safety <br />be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into <br />contracts for the purchase of the following Dquipment: <br /> <br />Purchase and installation of high frequency broadcasting <br />and receiving equipment together wlth mobile radio units <br />for all police cars° <br /> <br />six (6) police cars <br /> <br />and for the sale or trade-in of present vehicles for such new <br />vehicles with the lowest and best bidder or bidders after adver- <br />tisement according to law. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof <br />and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of <br />all members elected to Council it shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately ~upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor <br /> <br />Adopted:..March 18, 1968 <br /> Robert E.
