RESOLUTION NO. 4640 BY: Messrs. Gaydos, Graber, Huffman, <br /> Kelley, Usher, Ward, Wendling <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION expressing the sympathy of the Council and the <br />Administration of the City of Lakewood to the family of the late <br />James Hall, P.F.Co, U.S. Army~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Lakewood desires to honor <br />the memory of our brave young men serving in Vietnam, who have unselfishly <br />sacrificed their lives for the freedom of mankind, and whose passing <br />should uot go unnoticed by the residents of our community; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, James Hall was a resident of the City of Lakewood, <br />where he attended Lakewood High School. Previously he had attended St. <br />Michael High School, John Marshall High School, and Wilbur Wright <br />Junior High School; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, JamesHall enlisted in the Army in September, 1963, and <br />trained at Port Leonard Wood, and then at Fort Eustis, Virginia as a <br />helicopter gunner and pilot; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, James Hall~ having volunteered for a third tour of <br />twenty-five missions in Vietnam~ died of multiple gunshot wounds received <br />while on duty aboard a helicopter; and~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, James Hall was the first Lakewood boy to be killed in <br />Vietnam and was the recipient of Air Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters~ and <br />the Bronze Star; now, therefore: <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF I~LKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this entire Council and the Administration honors <br />the memory of James Hall, and extends deepest sympathy to his mother, <br />Firs. Kathalin Gerrich, of 1447 Maile Avenue. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby auth- <br />orized and directed to present a certified copy of this resolution to <br />the mother of James Hall, and that a copy of this resolution be spread <br />upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />June 17, 1968 <br /> <br /> Robert E.
