RESOLUTION NO. 4640 BY: Messrs. Gaydos, Graber, Huffman, Kelley, Usher, Ward, Wendling A RESOLUTION expressing the sympathy of the Council and the Administration of the City of Lakewood to the family of the late James Hall, P.F.Co, U.S. Army~ WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Lakewood desires to honor the memory of our brave young men serving in Vietnam, who have unselfishly sacrificed their lives for the freedom of mankind, and whose passing should uot go unnoticed by the residents of our community; and, WHEREAS, James Hall was a resident of the City of Lakewood, where he attended Lakewood High School. Previously he had attended St. Michael High School, John Marshall High School, and Wilbur Wright Junior High School; and, WHEREAS, JamesHall enlisted in the Army in September, 1963, and trained at Port Leonard Wood, and then at Fort Eustis, Virginia as a helicopter gunner and pilot; and WHEREAS, James Hall~ having volunteered for a third tour of twenty-five missions in Vietnam~ died of multiple gunshot wounds received while on duty aboard a helicopter; and~ WHEREAS, James Hall was the first Lakewood boy to be killed in Vietnam and was the recipient of Air Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters~ and the Bronze Star; now, therefore: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF I~LKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this entire Council and the Administration honors the memory of James Hall, and extends deepest sympathy to his mother, Firs. Kathalin Gerrich, of 1447 Maile Avenue. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby auth- orized and directed to present a certified copy of this resolution to the mother of James Hall, and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
