RESOLUTION NO. 4645 BY: Messrs. Huffman, Kelley, Usher, Ward, Wendling~ Gaydos, Graber A RESOLUTION expressing the sympathy of the Council and the Administration of the City of Lakewood to the family of the late Michael Pastva~ Cpl. U.S.M.C. WHEREASi The Council of the City of Lakewood desires to honor the memory of our brave young men serving in Vietnam who have unselfishly sacrificed their lives for the freedom of mankind, and whose passing should not go unnoticed by the residents of our community; and, WHEREAS, Michael Pastva~ born November 26, 1946, was a resident of the City of Lakewood, where he attended Saint James School, Harding Junior High School and Lakewood High School; WHEREAS, one year after graduating from high school, Michael Pastva enlisted in the Marine Corps and received his basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina; and WHEREAS, on December 6, 1967, Michael Pastva was killed while serving in Vietnam; and, WHEREAS, Michael Pastva was a loyal and patriotic young man who chose to serve his country during wartime, and deserves our gratitude and respect for making the ultimate sacrifice; now, therefore: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That this entire Council and the Administration honors the memory of Michael Pastva~ and extends deepest sympathy to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Pastva, of 1572 Larchmont Avenue. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she ia hereby authorized and directed to present a certified copy of this resolution to the family of Michael Pastva~ and that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting.
