RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />~6h6 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Messrs. Gaydos~ graber, <br /> Kelley~ Usher <br /> <br />WaI'~ <br /> <br /> aN E~aGZNCY RESOLUT£ON requesting the Director of <br />High,~.~ys of the State of ohio to review the traffic engineering <br />and investigation for purposes of declaring a reasonable and <br />safe prima-facie speed limit for Hilliard Road from RiVerside <br />Drive to Warren Road in the City of Lakewoodo <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, A request has been made to this Council that <br />the statutory vehicular speed limit established by Section 4511.21 <br />of the Ohio Revised Code is greater than that considered reason- <br />able and safe on Hilliard Road from Riverside Drive to Warren <br />Road~ and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This Council has caused to be made an engineer- <br />ing and traffic investigation upon Hilliard Road, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, It is the belief of this Council that such <br /> nvestlgatlon confirms the allegation that the statutory speed <br />limit of 35 mph is unrealistic, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This resolution Constitutes an emergency <br />measure for the immediate preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a muni- <br />cipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF L~KEWOOD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. By virtue of the provisions of Section <br />4511.21 of the Ohio Revised Code, the Director of Highways is <br />hereby requested to review the engineering and traffic investiga- <br />tion and to determine and declare a reasonable and safe prima- <br />facie speed limit, towit: twenty-five (25) miles per hour on <br />Hilliard Road between Riverside Drive and Warren Road in the City <br />of Lakewood, Ohio. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That after this Council is advised that the <br /> Director of Highways has determined and declared a reasonable and <br /> safe speed limit on Hilliard Road, that standard signs, properly <br /> posted and giving notice thereof, will be erected. <br /> <br /> Section 3.
