RESOLUTION NO. 4659 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Ward, Wendling, Gaydos, <br />Graber, Huffman, Kelley, Usher <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Director of Public <br />Works to enter into a contract for the purchase of Two ~%~ousand <br />(2,000) tons of rock salt for the period commencing November 1, <br />1968 and ending March 31~ 1969. <br /> <br /> WHEREAs, in order to pzovide safety for vehicular and <br />pedestrian traffic during the winter months, it is necessary <br />to purchase salt, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health~ <br />safety and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a muni- <br />cipal department, now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF ~E CITY OF LA~EWOODt <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1o That the Director of Public Works be and'he <br />is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract for <br />the purchase of ~;o T~ousand (2,000) tons of rock salt for the <br />period commencing November 1~ 1968 and ending March 31, 1969, <br />for the Department of Public Works~ with the lowest and best <br />bidder after advertisement according to law. <br /> <br /> Section 2o That this Resolution is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble <br />hereof and provided it receives the affirmative~ vote of two- <br />thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall tak~ effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by <br />the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted:__$~p~embe~ 3. 1968 <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Approved :_ $eptember 3 ~ .1968 <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br />Robert M.
