RESOLUTION NO. 4769 BY: Messrs. Gaydos, Graber, Huffman, Kelley, Usher, Ward, Wendling A RESOLUTION expressing the sympathy of the Council and the Administration of the City of Lakewood to the family of the late Andrew C. McCartney, Airman I. C., U. S. Air Force. WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Lakewood desires to honor the memory of our brave young men serving overseas who have unselfishly sacrificed their lives for the freedom of mankind, and whose passing should not go unnoticed by the residents of our community, and, WHEREAS, the parents of Andrew Co McCartney are residents of the City of Lakewood, and, k~HEREAS, Andrew C. McCartney was graduated from Lakewood High School in 1967 and attended Ohio Northern University, and, WHEI{EAS, Andrew C. McCartney was sent to Thailand in February 1970 where he was a radio and television technician at Udorn Air Force Base and was killed when a disabled reconnaissance aircraft struck a radio shack and barracks building on April 10, 1970, and, WHEREAS, Andrew C. McCartney was a loyal and patriotic young man who willingly served his country during wartime and deserves our gratitude and respect for making the ultimate sacrifice; now, therefore: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That thi~ entire Council and the Administration honor the memory of Andrew C. McCartney, and extend deepest sympathy to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. McCartney, 1560 Arthur Avenue, and to his sister, Mrs. John Clover, of Lebanon, New Hampshire. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to present a certified copy of this resolution to the family of ~-ndrew C. McCartney, and~ that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. President Clerk ~ ~ayor
