RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />4780 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Kelley, Usher, Wsrd, <br /> Wendling, Gaydos, Graber, Huffman, <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ?~SOLUTION authorizing the Director of Public <br />Works to enter into a contract for the purchase of approximately two <br />thousand (2,000) tons of rock salt for the period commencing Novem- <br />ber 1, 1970 and ending March 31, 1971. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide safety for vehicular and pedes- <br />trian traffic during the winter months, it is necessary to purchase <br />salt, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety <br />and welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1L That the Director of Public Works be and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract for the purchase <br />of two thousand (2,000) tons of rock salt for the period cormmencing <br />November 1, 1970 and ending March 31, 1971, for the Department of Public <br />Works, with the lowest and best bidder after advertisement according to <br />law. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That t~is Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />Presid~. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
