RESOLUTION NO. 4841 <br /> <br />Messrs. Usher, Ward, Wendling, <br />Gaydos, Graber, Huffmsn, Kelley <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Director of Public Works <br />to enter, into a contract for the purchase of approximately two thousand <br />(2,000) tons of rock salt for the period commencing November 1, 1971 <br />and ending March 31, 1972. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide safety for vehicular and pedestrian <br />traffic during the winter months, it is necessary to purchase salt, <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure provid- <br />ing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department~ <br />now therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract for the purchase of <br />two thousand (2,000) tons of rock salt for the period cou~nencing <br />November 1, 1971 and ending March 31, 1972, for the Department of Public <br />Works~ with the lowest and best bidder after advertisement according to <br />law. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force innnediately <br />upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />adopted: <br /> <br />President / <br />Clerk ~/ <br /> <br />Approved;/~, <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
