RESOLUTION NO. 4938 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Brockman, Graber, Magnotto, McBride, <br /> Usher, Wendling,Werner <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION giving consent of the City of Lakewood, <br />Cuyahoga County, Ohio, to the installation of a traffic control system on <br />Franklin-Hilliard Boulevard from the west corporation line to the east <br />corporation line under the supervision of the County of Cuyahoga and pro~ <br />posing to cooperate with the County of Cuyahoga in certain matters incident <br />thereto. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, great public inconvenience has been suffered and will <br />continue to be suffered due to a traffic control system which does not <br />meet current State Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices and which <br />results in much delay to the residents and motoring public, and reduced <br />safety; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is desirous of being on record <br />petitioning the County of Cuyahoga to expedite, at the earliest time, the <br />installation of a traffic control system; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS~ the City of Lakewood Nas agreed, as part of its financial <br />participation, to provide engineering plans of the installation of a traffic <br />control system, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. It is hereby declared to be in the public interest <br />that the consent of the City of Lakewood be mhd such consent is hereby given <br />to the County of Cuyahoga to install a traffic control system on Franklin- <br />Hilliard Boulevard from the west to the east corporation lines, which <br />installation shall greatly facilitate the movement of traffic and increase <br />the safety to the public. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The City of Lakeweod requests that all Government <br />funds that are available for this purpose be.applied, that the installation <br />be programmed at the earliest possible date and that the City of Lakewood <br />consents and requests this improvement. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and pro- <br />vided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected <br />to Council, it shall take effect and be in force irmnediately upon its <br />adoption and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Clerk/ <br /> <br />'Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
