RESOLUTION NO. 4966 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Usher, Werner, Brockman, Graber, <br /> Magnotto, McBride, Sinagra <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Director of Public Works <br />to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder after advertising <br />according to law, for waterproofing the roof parking area of the Municipal <br />Parking Garage No. 1 (Hospital Garage)° <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the roof of the Municipal Parking Garage No. 1, which is <br />also used for parking, has deteriorated through the years to the point that <br />water leaking through cracks is damaging lighting fixtures as well as the <br />basic structure, and necessary steps must be taken to return this building <br />to its original condition, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, immediate repairs and waterproofing to the roof of <br />Municipal Parking Garage No. 1 are mandatory, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the exigencies of the situation demand that repairs and <br />waterproofing thereto be made forthwith, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City does not have the necessary equipment and man- <br />power to perform said repairs and waterproofing to the roof area of said <br />Municipal Parking Garage No. 1, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency in that it <br />provides for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF I~kKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the lowest and best <br />bidder after advertising according to law, for necessary repairs and water- <br />proofing to the Municipal Parking Garage No. 1. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and <br />directed to pay for these repairs and waterproofing, said costs to be charged <br />to the Parking Garage Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br />Council, it.shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Adopted:~/~~ ~/q Z~ <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
