RgSOLUTION NO. 5002 BY: Messrs. Chineock, Grabber, Magnotto, McBride, Sinagra, Usher, Brockman A RESOLUTION in honor and memory of the late Emil C. Smerick, Clerk of the Lakewood Municipal Court, and extending deepest sympathy to his family. WHEREAS, Emil C. Smerick was first employed by the City of Lakewood on June 29, 1939 and served his beloved community with dedication and devotion. continuously since that time until his untimely passing on March 2, 1974, and WHEREAS, his public service included six years as a Deputy Bailiff and seventeen years as Bailiff of the Lakewood Municipal Court prior to his appointment as Clerk of said Court on August 1, 1972, and WHEREAS, during his tenure with the City of Lakewood and the Lakewood Municipal Court, Mr. Smerick was recognized as an extremely loyal and dedicated employee and earned the admiration and respect of all those who came in contact with him, and WHEREAS, his active participation in clerk and court mssociations, the activities of his church, and local community functions and projects are evidence of his continued desire to render outstanding service, and WHEREAS, such devotion and dedication should be recognimed and memorialized in a proper and fitting manner; now, therefore: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF oHIO: Section 1. That Lakewood City Council extends to the family of Emil C. Smerick its deepest sympathy during this time of grief, and its mppreciation on behalf of all citizens of the City of Lakewood for~his years of devoted public service to the community. Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Emil C. Smerick & Family, 1622 Elmwood Avenue, Lakewood Ohio and that a copy of thi's Resolution be spread upon the minutes of t~ing. ~ ~ .~ / President Approved:
