RESOLUTION NO. 5D10 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Brockman, Chinnock, Graber, <br /> Magnotto, Mcbride, Sinagra, Usher <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Director of <br />Public Safety to enter into a contract for the purchase of communications <br />equipment for the Department of Police. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the application of the Lakewood Police Department for <br />LEAA funds to bring its radio communications equipment to current county and <br />federal standards has been approved by the Regional Planning Unit, ~nd <br /> <br /> W}~REAS, a federal grant not to exceed $25,000 has been obtained for <br />the aforementioned radio communications equipments and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY'THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAICEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Safety be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract or contracts for the purchase <br />of radio cormnunications equipment, including the purchase of 9 portable radios, <br />1 multi-charger unit, 1 quick charger, the modernization of the base station, <br />the addition of tone coated squelch to all mobile radios and the base stations, <br />and a 10-track tape recorder, with the lowest and best bid or bidders after <br />advertisement according to law. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all memberwg~lected to CoUncil, it shall <br />take effect and be in force irmmediately upon i/s edition and a~pr~al by the <br />Mayor.
