RESOLUTION NO. 5024 BY: _Messrs. Chinnock~ Graber, Magnotto~ McBride, Sinagra, Usher, Brockman AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor of the City of Lakewood to enter into an agreement with the Regional Planning Co~r~ission of Cuyahoga County to prepare a Community Development Block Grant Application for the City of Lakewood for its entitlement funds allocated to the City under the Community Development Act of 1974. WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development of the Federal Government has determined that the City of Lakewood is entitled ~o ~181,000.00 in the year 1975 for community development assistance, and ~ WHEREAS, the application for such funds and the requirements established therein are of such a nature that expertise in the preparation of same is of vital necessity, and WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is desirous of obtaining financial assis- tance from the United States Government to be used in the area of community develop- ment, and WHEREAS, the Regional Planning Commission of Cuyahoga County is experienced and qualified in the field of obtaining federal financial assistance for municipal- ities and is willing no assist ~he City in its efforts to ~btain the aforementioned entitlement, and WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the u~sual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF I~KEWOOD~ STATE OF OHIO- Section 1. That the Mayor of the City of Lakewood me and he is hereby authorized and directed ~o enter into an agreement with the Regional Planning Commission of Cuyahoga County tc prepare a Community Developmen~ Block Grant Application for the City of Lakewood for the year 1975. The cost of said services shall not exceed the sum of Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00 Section 2. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed nc pay for the ~ervices set forth in Section I hereof, said costs no be charged no the G~nerat Fund - Department of Planning. Section 3.
