RESOLUTION NO. 5029 BY~ Messrs. McBride, Sinagra, Usher, <br /> Brock~an, Chinnock, Magnotto <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf <br />of the City of Lakewood, to request of the UnSted States Department of Housing <br />and Urban Development an advancement of a portion of the City's entitlement funds <br />for the year 1975 allocated to the City under the Community Development Act of <br />1974. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Lakewood has been authorized to file <br />a letter of intent and to prepare a Connnunity Development Block ~rant Application <br />for the City of L~kewood for its entitlement funds allocated to the City under the <br />Con.unity Development Act of 1974, and <br /> <br /> ~HEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has announced <br />that, upon request, a portion of the entitlement funds may be advanced to a muni- <br />cipality to prepare for the implementation of activities and work to be performed <br />under the Community Development Block Grant Program, and <br /> <br /> WREREAS~ the City of Lakewood is in need ~f such advance of funds for the <br />purposes hereinabove stated, and <br /> <br /> WNERFAS~ this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the in~nediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that such advancement should be requested at the earliest possible <br />time; now~ therafore, <br /> <br />BE IT P~SOLVED BY T~IE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood~ he and <br />he is hereby authorized and directed to request of the United States Departmen~ <br />of Housing and Urban Development an advancement of a portion of the City's entit- <br />lement funds for the year 1975 allocated to the City under the Community Develop- <br />ment Act of 1974. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Council of the City of Lakewood recogBizes that any <br />advance of entitlement funds is dependent upon the availability of such funds. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons Stated in the pre~mhle hereof and provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members ~lected to Council, it shall take <br /> <br /> Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
