RESOLUTION NO. 5066 BY: <br /> <br />Memsrs. M~gnotto, McBride, Singara, <br /> Brockman, Chinnock <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION honoring the memory of Charles A. Foster and expressing <br />sympathy to his family. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Charles A. Foster, after appointment as Assistant Director <br />of the Adult Education and Recreation Department of the Lakewood Board of <br />Education, served this community as Director of Recreation from 1934 until <br />his retirement in 1967, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Charles A. Foster contributed substantially to the <br />development of the City of Lakewood's extensive Adult Education and Recreation <br />Program and was instrumental in the development of the two outdoor municipal <br />swimming pools and the acquisition of Winterhurst Ice Rink by the City of <br />Lakewood, the swimming pool at Lakewood Park being dedicated in his name in <br />1965, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the m~ny contributions of Charles A. Foster to the City of <br />Lakewood during his long'residency here were duly recognized by all who came <br />in contact with him and resulted in his selection as Lakewood Citizen of the <br />Year for the year 1965 and the Lakewood Athletic Commission Man of the year in <br />1972, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is with deep regret that this Council has learned of the <br /> death of Charles Ao Foster on April 4, 1975 and now wishes to'honor his memory <br /> in appropriate fashion and to offer condolences to his family; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Lakewood City Council honors the memory of Charles <br />A. Foster and extends deepest sympathy to the members of his family on the loss <br />of their beloved husband and father. <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized <br />to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Charles Ao Foster and that <br />a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting. <br /> <br /> Vice President <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />
