RESOLUTION NO. 5136 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. McBride, Salmon, <br /> Sinagra, Usher, Chinnock <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION~to express support and urge the immediate enactment <br />of H.Bo 354 which would grant a five (5) year real property tax exemption <br />fo~ improvamonts made to parcel of real property occupied as a home. <br /> <br />kTHEREAS, a strong and secure housing stock is vital to the preservation <br />of the public health and welfare of the community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS~ there is a continual need to stimulate home improvements to <br />maintain and preserve reSidential neighborhoods in the City of Lakewood, <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, H.B. 354 would encourage homeowners and owners of other designated <br />real estate to make improvements by granting a tax exemption for five (5) <br />years; now therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY ~E COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the City of Lakewood expresses its support of H.B. 354 <br />and urges the immediate enactment of the bill so that homeowners and owners <br />of other designated real estate will be encourag~ to improve their property. <br /> <br />Section 2. ~at the Clerk of Council is hereby directed to forward to <br />the State Senate Ways and Means Committee a certified copy of this resolution <br />and also to the Clerk o~f the Senate. <br /> <br />Section 3. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided' it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council <br />and is approved by the Mayor, it shall take effect and be in force immediately. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
