RESOLUTION NO. 5146 BY Messrs~ Magnotto, Salmon Usher, Brockman, Chinnock AN E~ERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, to accept such grant and enter into a contract with Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners covering such grant for the period of May 1, 1976 through October 31, 1976~ providing partial funding for the Dial-A-Bus Transpor- tation Program in this City under Title III of the 1973 Older Americans Act. WHEREAS.,i the Cuyahoga County Board of Commissioners is administrating a program of grants £rom the Federal Government, under Title III of the 1973 Old~r Americans Act, whereby ~his City way obtain monies to provide transportation services for persons 60 years of age or older. WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is in need of financial assistance in order to aid in expanding the present transportation service to the Senior Citizens, and WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that these funds can be obtained at the present time; now~ therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That'the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood~ be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the Cuyahoga County Board of Coramissioners, providing partial funding of this City's Dial-A-Bus Transportation Program under Title III of the 1973 Older Americans Act. Section 2. Th'at this resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and previded it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; Mayor
