RESOLUTION NO. 5148 BY: Messrs. Chinnock, Magnot.to, Salmon, Usher,' Brockman AN EMERGENCY RESOLUT%ON authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood~ to accept such grant and enter into a contract with Cnyahoga County Board of Commissioners covering such grant for the period of May 1, 1976 through September 30, 1976, providing partial funding for the Social Services Program in,this City under Title III of the 1973 Older Americans Act. WHEREAS, the CuyahogaiCounty Board of Commissioners is administrating a program of grants from the~Federal Government, under Title III of the 1973 Older Americans Act, whereby this City may obtain monies to provide supportive social services for persons 60 years of age or older. WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood is in need of financial assistance in order to maintain the present Social Services Program for Senior Citizens, and WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for the immediate preservation!of the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that th~se funds can be obtained at the present time; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: Section 1. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lakewood, be and he is hereby authorized and dlirected to enter into a contract with the Cuyaboga ~ County Board of Commissionlers, providing partial funding of this City's Social Services Program under Tit!lc III of the 1973 Older Americans Act. Section 2, That thisi resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons s~ated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in forcie inm~ediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor. ?
