Brockman, Chinnock, <br />MagnOtto, McBride, Salmon, Singar~ <br />Usher <br /> <br />AN E~MERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf of <br />tile City of Lakewood, to make application for financial assista.ce ender <br />Title II of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973 as amended <br />and to execute a contract witN the Cleveland Area Western Reserve Manpower <br />Consortium for participation in a program under the Emergency .lobs and <br />Unemployment Assistance Act of 1974 for a period b~ginning February 1, 1977 <br />through September 30, 1977. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has beeu detetnnined by the Unite¢l States <br />Department of Labor to be an ellgible program agent nnder Title II <br />Emergenc~, Job Program, Comprehensive Employment and Training Act, as amended, <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Cleveland Area Western Reserve Manpower Consortium has received <br />funds for the City of Lakewood for use by the City in the Emerge.cy Job <br />Program, and <br /> <br />WIIERFAS, the City of Lakewood is iu need of financial assistance i.n order to <br />aid in the alleviation of the problems of the unemployed within the City, and <br /> <br />WIIEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the immediate preservation of the publfc health, safety and welfare and for <br />the further reason that these funds must be applied for at the earliest <br />possible time; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOI), STATE OF Ol{IO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor, on hehalf of the City of 1,akewood, be and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to make application for funds under Title II <br />Emergency Job Program, Comprehensive Emplo~nneut and 'Iraining Act, as ame~lded. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Mayor, on behalf of the City of Lsk&wood, be and be <br />is authorized and directed to execute a contract with tl~e Cleveland Area <br />Western Reserve Manpower Consortitnn for participatiou in the Emergency <br />Job Program under the Emergency Jobs at~d tIi~employulent Assistance Act of 1974. <br /> <br />Section 3.
