RESOLUTION NO. 5205 BY: Messrs. Magnotto, Mcbride, Salmon <br /> Sinagra, Usher, Brockman, Chinnock <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Director of Finance to pay the <br /> costof membership of municipal employees and/or Departments or Divisions in The <br /> Ohio International Conference of Building Officials for the year 1977, and declaring <br /> such membership to be in the public interest. <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, memberships of municipal employees in organizations designed to <br /> enhance the operation of municipal departments hy the exchange of ideas, information <br /> and experience is to the public benefit, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Ohio has adopted The Uniform Building Code which will <br /> become effective January 1, 1978, and The International Conference of Building <br /> Officials has been instrumental in developing this Code, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it would be advantageous for the City of Lakewood to become a <br /> member of The International Conference of Building Officials in order to benefit <br /> from its programs, experience and information, and <br /> <br /> RrHEREAS, membership in this organization wa~ not included in Resolution <br /> No. 5188 heretofore adopted by this Council on January 3, 1977, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br /> the imm~ediat~ preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety and <br /> for~the usual daily operation of municipal departments; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF 0HI0: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That membership in The International Conference of Building <br />Officials by employees and/or Departments or Divisions of the City of Lakewood is <br />hereby declared to be in the public interest. <br /> <br /> Section g. That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby authorized <br />to pay the cost of membership of municipal employees or Departments or Divisions <br />of the City of Lakewood for the year 1977 in The International Conference of <br />Building Officials. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble heredf and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force ir~/ediately upon its adoption and approval hy the <br />Mayor. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
