RESOLUTION NO. 5232 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Brockman, Chinnock, McBride, <br /> Salmon, Sinagra, Usher <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Director of Public Works <br />to enter into a contract for the purchase of approximately four thousand <br />tons of sodium chloride (rock salt) for a period of one year commencing <br />October 15, 1977 after advertising according to law. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to provide safety for vehicular and pedestrian <br />traffic during the winter months, it is necessary to purchase salt, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constitutes an emergency measure pro- <br />viding for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, and <br />welfare, and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract for the purchase of approxi- <br />mately four thousand tons of sodium chloride (rock salt) for the period <br />commencing October 15, 1977 and ending October 14, 1978, after advertising <br />according to law. <br /> <br />Ad°pted'~/~/Z <br /> <br /> Section 2. That this resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided <br />it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
