RESOLUTION NO. 5255 BY:Messrs. Salmon, SJnagra, Usher, Brockman, <br /> Chinnock, Magnotto, McBride <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION in honor and memory of the late Thomas C. Ward,~ <br />former Councilman of the City of Lakewood, and extending deepest sympathy <br />to his family. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Thomas C. Ward was elected to Lakewood City Council from <br />the Fourth Ward in 1940 and served part of his term before resigning to eater <br />military service during World'War II, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in 1947 he was elected to City Council from Ward 3 and <br />subsequently re-elected to five additional terms, serving continnously through <br />19~71, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his terms on City Council he was elected by his <br />follow Councilmen to two terms as President, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, he was recognized as an extremely able and dedicated public <br />servant who earned the admiration and respect of his fellow elected officials <br />and the citizens of the City at large, and <br /> <br /> ~ WHEREAS, such devotion and dedication should be recognized and <br />memorialized in a proper and fitting manner; now, therefore: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY TIlE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That Lakewood City Council extends to the family of <br />Thomas C. Ward its deepest sympathy during this time of grief, and its appre- <br />ciation on behalf of all citizens of the City of Lakewood for his yesrs of <br />'devoted public service to the community. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the Clerk of Co,ncil be and she is hereby autho¢ized <br />and directed to forward certified copies of this Resolution to Dr. Joseph .C.
