RESOLUTION NO.: 5268 <br /> <br />BY:Messrs. Chinnock, McBride, Salmon <br /> Brockman, Brown <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing and directing the Director of Public Works <br />to employ by contract the firm of Watermation, Inc. as consulting engineers for <br />the purpose of preparing all necessary documentation required in the submiss%on <br />of a Step II Federal Water Pollution Grant. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary to comply with Public Law 92-500, the Federal <br />Water Pollution Control Law, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has complied with the first step of Public <br />Law 92-500 by the completion and submission of a Step I Facilities Plan, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is now necessary to prepare the documentation required in <br />the application for a Step II Federal Water Pollution Control Grant, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a Step II Federal Water Pollution Control Grant will provide <br />75% of the funds necessary to prepare construction plans and specifications for <br />water pollution control projects proposed in the Step I Facilities Plan Study, and, <br /> <br /> ~rHEREAS, the firm of Watermation, Inc. prepared the City of Lakewood's <br />Step I Facilities Plan Study and is qualified to prepare all necessary information <br />required in the application for a Step II Federal Water Pollution Control Grant, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Resolution constmtutes an emergency measure providing for <br />the usual daily operation of a municipal department in that ~t is in the interest <br />of the public service, welfare and safety it is necessary to apply for a Step II <br />Federal Water Pollution Control Grant, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby <br />authorlzed and directed to employ by contract the firm of Watermation, Inc. 2304 <br />University Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota as consulting engineers for the purpose <br />of preparing all necessary information required in the submission of a Step II <br />Federal Water Pollution Control Grant application in an amount not to exceed <br />$10,000.00. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the cost for this work be provided by the Wastewater <br />Sewer Facility Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this Resolution ~s hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated ~n the preamble hereof and provided ~t receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thmrds of all members elected to Council, ~t shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br /> <br />Approved, ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
