RESOLUTION NO. 5275 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Brockman, Brown, <br /> Chinn0ck, Magnotto, McBride, <br /> Salmon <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend fellow Councilman George J. Usher for his <br />distinguished service as President of Lakeweod City Council, 1976-1977. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, George J. Usher was duly elected to the office of <br />Councilman-At-Large in the City of Lakewood in November, 1961 for the term <br />commencing January 1, 1962 and has served continuously in that capacity <br />since that time, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, having chaired or served as a member of practically every <br />committee of Council, his fellow colleagues did, on January 5, 1977, elect <br />Mr. Usher as President of Lakewood City Council for the two year term 1976 - <br />1977, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his tenure as President, Mr. Usher evidenced <br />outstanding leadership ability and gave significant direction to the affairs <br />of Council and the progress of our City, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, as President of Council, Councilman Usher was recognized <br />as a conscientious and fair legislative leader who afforded all of his fellow <br />members of Council and the citizens of Lakewood every opportunity to be heard, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the distiuguished service <br />rendered by Mr. Usher as President of Lakewood City Council be given public <br />cognizance and due recognition, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council commends fellow Councilman George J. Usher <br />for his distinguished service as President of the Lakewood City Council, 1976-1977, <br />and extends to him its appreciation, and that of all of the citizens of this <br />cormaunity, for his effective, dedicated leadership, and further, that this <br />Council wishes him continued years of service to the City of Lakewood;' <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized <br />and directed to froward a certified copy of this Resolution to Mr. George J.
