RESOLUTION NO. 5276 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Brown, Chinnock, <br /> Magnotto, McBride, Salmon, <br /> Usher, Brockman <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION to commend William E. Blackie for his dedicated and <br />devoted serVice to the City of Lakewood as its Mayor for the year 1977. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, William E. Blackie, after having most ably served the <br />City as Prosecutor, Assistant Law Director and Director Of Law, assumed the <br />office of Mayor of the City of Lakewood on the 1st day of January, 1977 and <br />served in that capacity until the 1st day of January, 1978, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his term as Mayor of the City, William E. Blackie <br />conscientiously and ably served the City with great devotion and dedication <br />and carried out his duties as Mayor with the health, safety and general <br />welfare of the nitizens of the City at all times uttermost in mind, and <br /> <br /> WHERFgS,during the Administration of William E. Blackie as Mayor <br />and under his inspired leadership, the City of Lakewood continued to grow <br />in stature and reputation as an outstanding community in which to live, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Administration of William E. Blackie as Mayor of the <br />City will be forever remembered as a year of significant accomplishment of <br />which the citizens of Lakewood can be justly proud, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such devotion, dedication and accomplishment should be <br />recognized in a proper and fitting manner, now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That this Council commends William E. Blackie for his <br />distinguished service as Mayor of the City of Lakewood for the year 1977, and <br />extends to him its appreciation, and that of all of the citizens of this <br />community, for his effective, dedicated leadership, and further, that this <br />Council wishes him continued years of service to the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby authorized <br />and directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Mr. William E.
